Vaishno Devi is one of the major Shakti Peetha of India. It is one of the important shrines of Goddess. Hear the Goddess is also known as Vaishnavi, Sherawali, Mata Rani or Mata which means mother. It is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi.
Temple is located at Katra in Union Territory of Jammu And Kashmir. For reaching Vaishno Devi temple you have to take 13 kilometer track through the road from Katra. It may take 5 to 8 hours to climb and reach Vaishno Devi. And to descend it may take 3 to 6 hours. At Katra you can hire porters or ponies to reach the top. Helicopter service is also there. Take extra care especially if you have senior citizens and kids with you. Summers are the best months to visit the holy place Vaishno Devi. It is ideal to visit from May to July. But in summer also you need to carry light warm clothes. As place is at the altitude of 1560 meters above the sea level it will be cool in summers also.
